Eagles cruise past Rams, 31-14

The Philadelphia Eagles rebounded from a slow start to cruise past the St. Louis Rams, 31-14.

It wasn’t a great day from quarterback Michael Vick, but he still did enough to lead his team to victory.

Vick ran for almost 100 yards and threw two touchdown passes to wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

It was a quiet day for wideout Jeremy Maclin, leading to concern that he is not completely recovered from his mysterious illness. (Read More…)

Asomugha picks Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Eagles virtually came out of nowhere to sign cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, stunning a couple of other teams pressing for him.

Interestingly enough, Asomugha did say a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to end up playing in either Baltimore or Philadelphia, so he kept to his word.

Asomugha’s addition gives the Eagles one of the best secondary’s in the NFL with Asante Samuel and Antonio Rodgers-Cromartie in the defensive backfield.

The Eagles had a lot of money to spend this offseason, which helped them to outbid other teams that were vying for Asomugha’s services. (Read More…)

Eagles interested in Favre

Oh boy. Here we go again.

The Philadelphia Eagles are interested in veteran Brett Favre as the backup quarterback to oft-injured starter Michael Vick.

The team currently has Kevin Kolb as their backup but they would like to trade him to another team for draft picks or a player or two.

Kolb has made it clear that he prefers to start, and the Eagles feel as though it is a waste to have a quality quarterback rotting away on their bench.

Favre also made it pretty clear that he was finished for good after he got banged up last year and the Minnesota Vikings failed to reach the playoffs. (Read More…)

Eagles slap Vick with franchise tag

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially slapped the franchise tag on veteran quarterback Michael Vick.

The news comes as little surprise since the Eagles had made it clear they were not willing to risk Vick becoming a free agent.

After how well he played and with the number of teams in need of a quarterback, Vick would have been a hot commodity.

With the franchise tag in place, the Eagles have bought themselves more time to reach a long-term deal with Vick. (Read More…)

Eagles to tag Vick, possibly trade Kolb

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will likely be given the franchise tag by the team, which will listen to offers for backup Kevin Kolb.

It was clear all along that the Eagles wanted to bring back Vick and would not allow him to become a free agent.

However, it is a bit surprising that they have decided to consider trading Kolb, who doesn’t want to be a backup.

With how often Vick gets injured and considering his reckless style of play, having a good backup quarterback seems important. (Read More…)

Eagles can’t rally past Packers, 21-16

The Philadelphia Eagles rallied back late but couldn’t climb the mountain in a 21-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

The Eagles made a late push and actually had a chance for the game-winning touchdown, but Michael Vick threw an interception in the end zone.

Vick was clearly upset at himself and his team after the game, remaining on the bench after the clock ran out.

The quarterback threw for 292 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 33 yards and another score. (Read More…)

Eagles shocked by Vikings, 24-14

The Philadelphia Eagles were burned by a sloppy performance in a 24-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Michael Vick threw for 263 yards, a touchdown and an interceptionand he also ran for 63 yards and a score.

However, Vick looked uncomfortable all night facing Minnesota’s heavy pressure and threw a number of balls that should have been intercepted.

The Eagles said after the game that Vick suffered a concussion but continued to play, something the NFL certainly won’t be happy about. (Read More…)

The Philadelphia Eagles rallied back for an unbelievable, 38-31 win over the New York Giants.

The Eagles trailed all of the game and found themselves down by three scores with just eight minutes to play.

The team actually scored more points and totaled more offensive yards in the final eight minutes than they did for the entire game.

Eagles hold off Giants, 27-17

The Philadelphia Eagles used a big play from Michael Vick to gain a 27-17 win over the New York Giants.

The biggest play of the game occurred in the fourth quarter on a fourth-and-one from the 50-yard line.

The Eagles lined up in a formation that dictated a quarterback sneak, but instead pitched the ball to LeSean McCoy.

The running back then raced 50 yards virtually untouched to score the game-winning touchdown. (Read More…)
