The Philadelphia Eagles are seriously considering releasing backup quarterback Michael Vick.
The team is very concerned over Vick’s close ties to a shooting at a birthday party in his honor.
The NFL and the Eagles are looking into the incident, one Vick said he had no involvement in. (Read More…)

The Philadelphia Eagles lost a couple of key players in the offseason, but they think they gained a lot more.
The team traded away star quarterback Donovan McNabb and then released running back Brian Westbrook.
However, with the loss of the veterans, the team has a new enthusiasm and energy toward football. (Read More…)

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Marlin Jackson ruptured his Achilles tendon in an offseason workout.
The injury eans Jackson will miss the entire 2010 season after signing a free agent deal with the Eagles.
Several teams were interested in signing Jackson but were scared away by his extensive injury history.
He suffered season-ending injuries each of the past two seasons and underwent surgery on both knees.
The Eagles were in the process of switching Jackson from cornerback to safety, but his future is now up in the air.

Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb apologized for not winning a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles.
McNabb took some of the blame for the team’s failure to get over that last hump and bring home a championship.
He expressed no bad feelings toward the Eagles organization or the fans of the city, saying he loves his time in Philly.
It’s clear that it frustrates and pains McNabb to be labeled as the guy who never could get it done when it mattered most.
While I’m sure McNabb would love to show he isn’t in decline and beat the Eagles twice next year, he has done an admirable job in taking the high road.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson said that the team will not suffer with Donovan McNabb.
He said that things are no different without McNabb and he doesn’t even notice that he isn’t around.
Jackson’s mouth has gotten him into trouble before, particularly against Dallas last year before their playoff matchup.
That didn’t end well for the Eagles, who scored just one touchdown and got embarassed by Dallas for the third time that season.
He will certainly notice McNabb’s absence if the Eagles or the offense gets off to a slow start next year.

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed starting quarterback Kevin Kolb through the 2011 season.
The one-year contract extension gives the team more time to reach a long-term deal with the quarterback.
Kolb played in a few game last year and was impressive enough for the team to trade away veteran Donovan McNabb.
Andy Reid and company believe that Kolb has what it takes to become a franchise quarterback.
Kolb said he is going to try and prove that the Eagles made the right decision investing their confidence in him.

The Philadelphia Eagles added a pass rusher to their defense, selecting linebacker Brandon Graham with the No. 13 pick.
The Eagles had to trade up with the Denver Broncos to assure themselves of securing the linebacker.
A lot of Eagles fans were excited the team was trading up and thought they were going after safety Earl Thomas.
The fan reaction was not so pleasant after the commissioner announced that the Eagles selected Graham.
Either way, the Eagles still did a nice job of drafting a player that fills a major need on the defensive side of the ball.

The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired linebacker Ernie Sims in a trade with the Detroit Lions.
As a part of a three-team trade, the Eagles sent their fifth-round pick to the Denver Broncos.
Sims, a former first-round draft pick, has failed to live up to expecations in the Motor City.
The Eagles are hopeful that a change of scenery will allow him to realize his full potential.
Philadelphia has been looking for a star lineback for years now and is hopeful Sims can become that guy.

Free agent veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia has expressed interest in returning to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now that the Eagles have traded away a veteran of their own in Donovan McNabb, a spot on the roster has opened up at quarterback.
The team still has Kevin Kolb and Michael Vick but may be looking to bring in a veteran to mentor the younger quarterbacks.
Kolb is still rather unproven and Vick is not considered a starter anymore in the league, so Garcia would also provide insurance should the guys in front of him falter.
Garcia has already proven he is more than tough enough to play in Philadelphia after guiding them to a playoff berth some years ago.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb is about to get real close with the City of Brotherly Love.
With the team trading Donovan McNabb to Washington, the pressure now falls on Kolb to take over the reigns at quarterback.
Kolb played excellent last year while McNabb missed time with an injury, but coming in as a backup is much different than starting.
As a starter, Kolb will face a ton more pressure and scrutiny, especially in a city like Philadelphia.
The team and city is counting on Kolb to be a franchise quarterback. Will he be able to meet their expectations?
